KOOTENAI COUNTY, Idaho – The National Weather Service Spokane issued a flood advisory for Kootenai County, including Silverwood Theme Park, until 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
The advisory, announced at 4:12 p.m., warned of potential minor flooding in low-lying areas due to heavy rain from thunderstorms. Areas with poor drainage are also at risk.
Spirit Lake, Athol, and Chilco are also included among the locations likely to be affected, according to the NWSS.
The public is advised to avoid driving on flooded roads, as most flood-related deaths reportedly occur in vehicles.
