KOOTENAI COUNTY, Idaho – The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office highlighted their commitment to and the importance of interagency cooperation with Border Patrol following a significant arrest on June 1, 2025.
A KCSO Deputy stopped a vehicle on I-90 near 4th Street, where Daniel Ochoa was found to be in the country illegally. U.S. Border Patrol agents confirmed Ochoa’s immigration status and placed an immigration hold on him.
Ochoa admitted to unlawfully entering the United States and is believed to be connected to a homicide and other serious charges outside the state.
Sheriff Bob Norris emphasized the importance of this collaboration, saying, “This case is a strong example of the critical importance of communication and collaboration between our office and our Border Patrol partners.”
The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office says it remains committed to ensuring community safety through proactive policing and strong interagency partnerships.
