KITTITAS COUNTY, Wash. – The Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office concluded a two-day operation targeting sex trafficking networks in the area, with support from the Ellensburg and Othello Police Departments.
According to a release, the sheriff’s office partnered with ASPEN Victim Advocacy Services to provide resources such as emergency safe housing, counseling and legal support to help trafficked women transition away from exploitation.
During the operation, investigators said a 34-year-old man from Cle Elum and a 35-year-old man from Kent were arrested for promoting prostitution.
Evidence showed that they knowingly transported women for sex work and intended to profit from these acts, the sheriff’s office said in the release.
Investigations into these felony charges continue.
