Kittitas County Colockum Rd fire: Evacuation levels lowered

UPDATE: June 19 at 6:15 p.m.

Firefighters have halted the spread of the fire and evacuation levels have been adjusted as a result, said the Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office.

The level is now at two for areas above the 9000 block of Colockum Rd.

Residents in this area should remain ready to evacuate if necessary.

For areas from the 9000 block of Colockum Rd down to Trail Creek, the evacuation level has been lowered to level one.

Residents in these areas are advised to stay aware of the situation.

KITTITAS VALLEY, Wash. – Deputies have issued evacuation notices for residents on Colockum Road due to safety concerns.

Level 3 evacuation notices, meaning “LEAVE NOW,” have been issued to all residences north of the 9000 block on Colockum Road.

For those south of the 9000 block down to Trail Creek, Level 2 evacuation notices, or “GET READY,” have been issued. This indicates that residents should prepare to leave at a moment’s notice.

Kittitas Valley Fire amd Rescue is actively involved in managing the situation and ensuring the safety of the community.

Residents are urged to stay informed and follow the instructions provided by local authorities to ensure their safety.

KITTITAS VALLEY, Wash. – Kittitas Valley Fire & Rescue is currently responding to a brush and wildland fire near Colockum Road and Trail Creek.

The Washington Department of Natural Resources is also on the way with additional resources, according to the press release.
