
KING COUNTY, Wash. – The sixth measles case in Washington state this year has been confirmed in an adult from King County.
Public Health officials reported that the individual was at Sea-Tac Airport on May 17 and at Overlake Medical Center in Bellevue on May 18 while infectious.
The health department believes the person was exposed to measles while traveling internationally. Their vaccination status is currently unknown.
According to Public Health Seattle and King County, those exposed to the virus and not immune would likely become sick between May 24 and June 8.
This marks the sixth confirmed measles case in Washington in 2025. Officials have noted several instances of international travelers visiting the state while infected.
