KETTLE FALLS, Wash. – Students from the Kettle Falls School District (KFSD) recently participated in Build a Better World Day, focusing on community service and making a positive impact.
KFSD fourth graders spent a day at the Colville Valley Animal Sanctuary, where they engaged in activities such as walking dogs and assisting with chores.
Their efforts aimed to provide care and support to animals in need.
Meanwhile, KFSD eighth graders took a hike to the iconic “KF” on Gold Hill.
They dedicated their time to pulling weeds and applying a fresh coat of paint to the landmark, showcasing their school spirit and community pride.
The eighth grade students also partnered with local businesses to clean, organize, and beautify community spaces, showing the impact of teamwork and collaboration
In another project, Kettle Falls High School students collaborated with second graders to build bat houses for use in the community. This initiative was aimed at enhancing local wildlife habitats.
Kindergarteners added their own colorful touch to the day by painting rocks. The cheerful creations are meant to be placed around the community to spread joy and brighten people’s days.
The senior class at Kettle Falls High School was busy preparing the stadium for their upcoming graduation ceremony on June 7 at 3:00 p.m. They painted and cleaned the stadium, ensuring it is ready for their special day.
Build a Better World Day is an annual event where KFSD students collaborate with their communities to engage in projects that foster meaningful change.
In previous years, students have painted, pulled weeds, collected garbage and helped clean a cemetery, contributing to the betterment of their surroundings.
