WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Department of Justice may seek to issue additional indictments against former FBI Director James Comey just a few weeks after their case against him was dismissed by a federal judge in Virginia in late November.
when U.S. District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly ruled on Saturday to temporarily bar prosecutors from using certain evidence they presented in their first case against Comey.
Comey pleaded not guilty to lying before Congress.
According to CNN, court documents filed by the DOJ indicate they plan to continue prosecuting Comey.
The original indictment against the former FBI director was dismissed after a federal judge ruled that prosecutor Lindsey Halligan was unlawfully appointed by the Trump administration.
