Justice Department criticized for exposing Epstein victims’ privacy

The Justice Department is under fire for not safeguarding the privacy of Jeffrey Epstein’s accusers in newly released documents. According to the Associated Press, the department posted files online revealing names, faces and sensitive details of the victims without proper redactions.

Despite attempts to correct these oversights, images including a selfie by a nude female in a bathroom and another by a topless female remained online, with their faces clearly visible as of Wednesday evening.

Some accusers and their lawyers are calling for the site to be taken down and for an independent monitor to be appointed. A judge canceled a hearing on the issue after victims’ lawyers indicated they were making progress.
