Jacob Anderson sentenced to 35 years to life in St. Maries homicide case

ST. MARIES, Idaho — Jacob Anderson, 21, was sentenced on Tuesday in Benewah County Court after being found guilty on all charges stemming from a in a that ended on July 31, 2025.

Anderson was charged with murder, two counts of battery with intent to commit a serious felony, two counts of burglary and assault. The sentencing for all of these charges will run concurrently.

Anderson’s second-degree murder charge carried a minimum sentencing of 35 years followed by an indeterminate period of up to life. The two counts of battery with intent to commit a serious felony carried sentencing of 35 years and 15 years, respectively. The two counts of burglary both carried a minimum sentence of 10 years. For the assault charge, Anderson was sentenced to 90 days.

In total, Anderson was sentenced to confinement for 35 years to life, to serve the sentences for all of these charges concurrently. He was given credit for time served in the amount of 914 days as he was in custody during his trial.
