NORTH IDAHO – With 2-3 feet of snow possible overnight on Lookout Pass, ITD crews are gearing up for a long night across North and Central Idaho.
The Idaho Transportation Department is encouraging drivers to prepare for severe storm conditions with wind gusts up to 70 MPH. It posted on Facebook that high-speed winds, reduced visibility, and a possibility for lower elevation flooding are also expected with tonight’s storm.
ITD says it has crews ‘fully staffed and prepared across the region to respond quickly to the storm. Crews will prioritize snow removal in high-elevation areas and will address other roadway hazards such as fallen trees and debris as conditions allow.’
Full details of expected impacts and what drivers can do to stay safe are available on its website.
