Parents in the Inland Northwest are being warned about an online sextortion scheme targeting children. Idaho Attorney General Raúl Labrador reported that suspects are reaching out to kids through gaming platforms and messaging apps.

The scheme involves blackmailing children into sharing explicit photos or engaging in self-harm. Labrador stated that the operation is run by an international criminal group known as 764.

The attorney general emphasized the importance of monitoring children’s online activities to protect them from these threats.
