
The Center for Disease Control said an outbreak of Infant Botulism is over, after a series of cases were linked to a batch of ByHeart powdered infant formula distributed in Nov. 2025.
The outbreak included 28 confirmed cases and 20 probable cases, according to the CDC. No new cases have been confirmed since Dec. 2025.
Two of the cases were in Washington, two were in Idaho and three were in Oregon. None were reported in Montana or Wyoming.
“The outbreak is over, but activities to determine the root cause of C. Botulinum in ByHeart powdered infant formula continue,” the CDC wrote in its update.
The when cases were reported in several states, which were later linked to ByHeart powdered infant baby formula. The product was recalled by the company and the CDC on Nov. 11, 2025.
“If you have any ByHeart formula, do not use it and throw it away,” the CDC wrote in its update.
