Incoming storm turns Monday from clear to cloudy ☀️▶️☁️▶️🌧️

Monday will be a transitional one in our weather as sunshine is replaced by overcast skies and a good chance for rain.

Plan Your Monday

A storm system will begin to march into the Inland Northwest today, bringing increasing cloud cover as the day goes on. Rain chances will slowly ramp up as well, heading into the late afternoon and early evening. Highs will hit the 70s around midday before the clouds cut off any further warming. Expect a 40 to 70 percent chance of light rain around dinnertime.

What We’re Tracking

It will be a rainy night as the storm continues to move inland. On Tuesday, morning showers will give way to afternoon thunderstorms along the system’s cold front. This front and its associated storms will also bring brief gusty winds of 30 to 40 mph on Tuesday afternoon.

The storm has largely moved on by Wednesday, and a ridge of high pressure will begin to build up for the rest of the week. This will lead to a long-term warming trend that will get the region into the 80s by the weekend. There’s a chance it could get even hotter early next week.
