GIG HARBOR, Wash. — In December, more than 340 women at the Washington Corrections Center for Women participated in an incentive-based fundraiser, raising over $1,780 for Feisty Felines.
The women purchased a special set of scented body wash and lotion, with all proceeds going to the organization.
Feisty Felines works closely with the facility, allowing incarcerated women to have a cat or litter of kittens in their cells. This program provides socialization and safe housing for the animals until they are ready to be adopted by community members.
Washington State Department of Corrections officials highlighted the importance of giving back to the community as a part of rehabilitation for incarcerated individuals, offering a meaningful way for them to contribute positively.
