
BOISE, Idaho — The Idaho men’s basketball team opened the Big Sky Conference tournament with a strong performance, outscoring the Sacramento State Hornets, 68-45.
Idaho raced out to an early lead, using efficient shooting and strong defensive pressure to limit Sacramento State’s scoring chances. Jackson Rasmussen paced the V’s with 17 point while Kolton Mitchell contributed with seven rebounds, anchoring Idaho’s effort on the glass.
Sacramento State was unable to mount a fourth-quarter rally as the Vandals’ margin remain comfortably in double digits.
The Vandals will move on to the second round and will face the Montana State Bobcats on March 8 at 7 p.m. pacific time.
