
BOISE, Idaho – The Idaho Department of Labor (IDL) reported an increase in the state’s seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate, rising from 3.6% to 3.7% between June and July.
The labor force saw a decrease of 451 people, with the participation rate dropping 0.2 percentage points to 63.2%. Total employment fell by 643 (0.1%) to 973,241, while unemployment rose by 192 (0.5%) to 36,892.
Despite the overall increase in unemployment, several sectors experienced gains in July. These include administrative, support and waste management services; construction; transportation, warehousing and utilities; arts, entertainment and recreation; private educational services and nondurable goods manufacturing.
The unemployment rate of 3.7% for July 2025 matches the rate from July 2024, according to IDL data.
