Idaho schools to receive nearly $27 million in federal education funds

IDAHO – The Trump administration has released $5 billion in previously frozen federal education funds. Idaho is set to receive nearly $27 million of this amount.

The freeze began on June 30 and led to weeks of uncertainty for schools nationwide. The U.S. Department of Education confirmed that states will start receiving the funds next week.

Critics voiced concerns that the freeze impacted programs for at-risk students, such as English learners and migrant children. The release of these funds aims to support and restore programs vital to these students.

Educational institutions across Idaho are preparing to allocate the funds to ensure the continued support of at-risk students.
