IDAHO – Idaho has emerged as a top destination for retirees, ranking fifth in Bankrate’s 2025 Best States to Retire study. The state scored high marks for safety, affordability and low taxes.
Idaho boasts the nation’s lowest property crime rate, making it an attractive option for those seeking a safe retirement environment.
In contrast, Washington ranked lower at 36th on the list, receiving poor marks in the categories of local taxes and safety, as well the amount of other retirement-age people living in the state.
