BOISE, Idaho – The governor of Idaho announced that the Idaho State Police will collaborate with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to transport dangerous illegal alien criminals out of Idaho jails.

According to Governor Brad Little’s release, the agreement aims to transport hundreds of violent offenders from Idaho to ICE detention facilities for deportation.

“Idaho has taken many steps to increase our coordination with the Trump administration in the enforcement of our nation’s immigration laws, and I want to further strengthen our state’s partnership with President Trump to help address the national emergency posed by years of reckless border policies under the Biden-Harris administration,” Governor Little said.

U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem praised Idaho’s actions, noting the critical role of the 287(g) program in enhancing enforcement capabilities. “It has been wonderful to see people jump in and be a part of it,” Noem stated.

Under the agreement, Idaho State Police will spend up to $300,000 to conduct 100 transports over the next year, sending offenders to ICE facilities primarily in Jefferson County. The new arrangement aligns with Idaho’s House Bill 83, reinforcing cooperation in immigration enforcement.
