ICE agent called back to the stand in Spokane protest trial over undisclosed X account

SPOKANE, Wash. — Two local law enforcement officers testified in the ongoing trial over Spokane’s ICE protest last summer.

A Spokane County Sheriff’s deputy desired to have physical altercations with the public the day of Spokane’s ICE protest, body camera footage showed.

Also during Friday’s proceedings, an ICE agent was called back to the stand to testify about a since-deleted X account, initially reported by RANGE Media.

The trial for the three people accused of impeding ICE agents during a protest in Spokane last summer continued Friday.

During testimony, body camera footage was played for the jury that showed Deputy Brittan Morgan hopeful for confrontations with protestors.

While staging for the protest, Deputy Morgan was seen saying, “God, I hope they do some s***. I want to hit someone with a stick today.” Other footage shows Morgan saying, “I can’t tell you how pissed off I am that I’m here right now. I want to hit someone with a stick.”

Morgan was seen pushing one of the defendants, Justice Forral, and pointing a less lethal rifle at him at point-blank range.

Also testifying again on Friday was ICE agent Jeremy Burlingame, who had previously testified Thursday. Reporting by RANGE Media found Burlingame did not disclose his X account to the prosecution during discovery. He then deleted the account without notifying prosecution on Thursday.

Burlingame posted disparaging tweets toward racial minorities including calling Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett “ghetto garbage” and replying to a black woman being arrested with “You like jungle behavior?”

Court proceedings are ongoing. Check back for updates.
