I-90 eastbound off-ramp closure in Cataldo to start Monday

CATALDO, Idaho – The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) announced that the eastbound off-ramp on Interstate 90 at Cataldo will close on Monday in the early morning. The closure is expected to last at least three weeks, weather permitting.

During this period, eastbound drivers will not be able to exit at Cataldo. ITD has advised using the Kingston exit and returning via I-90 westbound to reach Cataldo.

Project Manager Megan Koski emphasized the importance of favorable weather.

“We need a short window of decent weather to pave and stripe before winter conditions set in,” Koski stated. “Our goal is to open the new eastbound bridge to traffic before Thanksgiving, but that will largely depend on how the weather cooperates.”

The off-ramp was previously a detour route during the Canyon Road Bridge replacement by the East Side Highway District. Drivers should expect an updated detour route from ESHD and follow locally posted signage.

ITD officials mentioned that if weather conditions are favorable, work might progress during the snowy months, which could lead to temporary work zones and single lane closures in the area.
