I-90 Adams Road overpass closed indefinitely following hole discovery in bridge deck

GRANT COUNTY — The Washington State Department of Transportation has closed the I-90 Adams Road overpass east of George indefinitely after crews discovered a hole in the bridge deck Wednesday morning.

WSDOT crews responded to the report and immediately shut down the overpass as a safety precaution. A bridge inspection team will examine the site to determine the extent of damage and necessary repairs.

The cause of the hole remains unknown, and officials have not provided a timeline for reopening. Travelers are being detoured to the junction of Interstate 90 and State Route 281 Spur and Frontage Road.

The Grant County Sheriff’s Office said it has no additional information about the incident.

Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time when using the detour route.
