House Oversight investigates Biden staff’s potential obstruction

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The House Oversight Committee is conducting a high-profile investigation into whether senior staffers obstructed signs of mental decline in former President Joe Biden. The investigation includes an interview with a former White House press secretary from the Biden administration.

Representative James Comer is leading the investigation. He said the committee is also reviewing former Vice President Kamala Harris’s new book as part of the inquiry. Comer said, “One of the questions was about Kamala Harris and what Kamala Harris has written that came out in the last 48 hours was consistent with what we believe we have learned in this administration with respect to the decisionmaking process and the lack of respect that the staffers and the people around the Biden White House had for President Biden.”

Comer emphasized the seriousness of the investigation, particularly regarding the legality of using the autopen. He thinks it is possible that some executive actions were approved via autopen without Biden’s full awareness.

The committee continues to gather information and conduct interviews as part of the ongoing investigation.
