SPOKANE, Wash. – Holiday festivities are in full swing in Spokane, with decorations lighting up the area and activities for everyone to enjoy. Among these is a special holiday scavenger hunt just for kids.
Participants can pick up a passport at the Riverpark Square concierge or online. The hunt involves searching for seven holiday characters hidden in 14 businesses throughout downtown Spokane. This year’s characters come from the 1973 coloring book, “Crescent Department Store Christmas.”
Elisabeth Hooker from the Downtown Spokane Partnership shared the excitement surrounding the event. “We have kiddos who look forward to this every year. We’ve been doing this for 10 years. Kids look forward to coming back downtown each year to look for those characters. We get, literally, hundreds of entries,” said Hooker.
The scavenger hunt will continue through December 21. Once participants find all the characters, they can submit their findings at the entry box located at 818 West Riverside. Successful entries will be entered into a drawing for a giant family prize package worth at least $300.
