LEWISTON, Idaho – The historic Nez Perce County Courthouse, a landmark dating back to 1889, is being torn down. In June, structural issues led to the landmark’s closure, after it was deemed unsafe.
The courthouse’s operations and everything inside were transferred to the new courthouse, conveniently located right next door.
Demolition has begun, and part of the building is already exposed. A fence has been set up around the site to ensure public safety and keep people out.
