ADAMS COUNTY, Idaho – The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare has issued a health advisory for Eagle Bar in Hells Canyon Reservoir. Located northwest of Council off Hells Road, the reservoir is showing concerning levels of toxin-producing bacteria.
Authorities are urging people to avoid swimming in or consuming the water from Eagle Bar. The bacteria present can be harmful to humans, livestock, and pets.
Even inhaling water droplets from the reservoir may lead to symptoms like rash, hives, red eyes, wheezing, coughing, or shortness of breath.
Those experiencing any of these symptoms are advised to contact the poison control center immediately.
