Gunfire incident at Post Falls park leads to arrest

POST FALLS, Idaho – Post Falls Police said a tense situation involving two people unfolded at Black Bay Park today.

A man vandalized park property before threatening another man with a metal pipe, police said in a release.

Police said the man being threatened displayed a gun, fired a warning shot and held the suspect at gunpoint until officers arrived.

The suspect was arrested. He faces charges of felony malicious injury to property and aggravated assault. The armed citizen was not charged, police added.

The Post Falls Police Department urges residents to call 911 if they witness a crime.
