SPOKANE, Wash. – Drivers in Spokane should be aware of a new road closure affecting Greene Street. Starting Monday, the northbound lanes of Greene Street between Mission and Illinois Avenues will be fully closed for about a week.
This closure is part of ongoing utility work for the Spokane River Crossing Project. Earlier this week, the southbound lanes were closed, and now it is the northbound lanes’ turn.
The Washington Department of Transportation stated that this work is part of the process to complete this section of the North Spokane Corridor.
A detour will be in place for those heading north on Greene. Drivers will need to turn left onto Mission, then right onto Hamilton and another right onto Foothills Drive, reconnecting with Greene near Euclid. Signs will be posted to guide drivers along the detour route.
