SAN FRANCISCO – John Collett, a former SWX sports broadcaster, has transitioned from television to teaching broadcasting at Gonzaga University. Collett and his students are in San Francisco covering the Super Bowl for Gonzaga and GUTV.
John Collett expressed his excitement about the opportunity, sharing his enthusiasm for the experience. “Getting to see it through our students’ eyes — and I’m excited too — hey, we have a job to do, but really take a moment to really look around and see where you are. This is a transformative, memorable experience,” he said.
Madylin Campbell, one of Collett’s students, spoke highly of her professor’s influence on their preparation for the event.
“John Collett is an amazing professor. He’s prepared us in so many different ways to be in this space. After three years of being with GUTV, we really push each other to be better, we really work together as a team,” she said. Campbell added that she feels confident being at the Super Bowl and hopes to return for future events.
The story of Collett and his students’ journey to the Super Bowl will continue as they introduce more about their experience Thursday morning.
