SPOKANE, Wash. – Gonzaga University was the site of a significant protest against ICE activity, drawing in hundreds of participants from the campus community.

Around 200 faculty and students gathered to listen to speeches and then marched around the campus. Several students expressed their sense of duty to speak out against ICE operations, particularly in Minneapolis.

The Trump administration has stated that ICE operations nationwide focus on removing dangerous individuals without legal status.

Gonzaga University released a statement after the protests. “Demonstrations can be powerful opportunities for expression of ideas and catalysts for change, and they appreciate that Gonzaga students are dedicated to working towards a more peaceful future,” they said.
