
LAS VEGAS — Gonzaga Bulldogs women’s basketball delivered one of its most complete performances of the season, rolling past the Santa Clara Broncos, 88-60 in the semifinals of the West Coast Conference tournament.
The Bulldogs led 17-15 after the first quarter before exploding offensively in the second. Gonzaga outscored Santa Clara 2-11 in the second quarter, turning a tight contest into a double-digit lead by the half.
The Zags continued to push the tempo after the break, adding 20 points in the third quarter and 22 more in the fourth.
Gonzaga entered the tournament after finishing second in the WCC regular-season standings with a 14-4 conference record.
The victory sends Gonzaga to the WCC title game against Oregon State on March 10 at 1 p.m. where the Bulldogs will look to secure the conference’s automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament.
