Ghislaine Maxwell, Jeffrey Epstein’s former girlfriend who was convicted of recruiting young girls into sex trafficking, is planning to ask a judge to release her from prison, according to a new court filing.

Maxwell filed a Habeas Corpus petition seeking her release from prison, where she is serving a 20-year sentence.

The filing did not state on what grounds Maxwell would argue for her release.

Ghislaine Maxwell was in 2021 and began serving her sentence in Tallahassee, Florida.

In July 2025, the Department of Justice with Ghislaine Maxwell, as pressure for more information regarding Epstein’s accomplices rose. It later released transcripts of the meetings.

A week after meeting with the Department of Justice, Maxwell was to a low-security federal prison in Texas.
