GasBuddy reveals best day to buy gas in Washington and Idaho for savings

WASHINGTON — Buying gas is consistently one of the top household expenses for Americans. A new report sheds light on how drivers can save money by selecting the right day to fill up.

GasBuddy, a company analyzing gas prices across America, found that Sunday is the cheapest day to buy gas in all but five states.

In Washington and Idaho, the trend holds true, with Sunday being the most cost-effective day to fill up. However, the priciest day to buy gas differs between the two states. In Washington, Thursday is the most expensive day, while in Idaho, it’s Tuesday.

GasBuddy also noted that in parts of the West Coast, prices follow a more pronounced pattern known as price cycling. In these markets, prices often “reset” sharply higher on a specific day, then slowly decline over the next several days before the next spike.
