OLYMPIA, Wash. – Starting July 1, gas prices in Washington will see an increase due to a new state tax.
The tax, approved by state lawmakers during the legislative session, will raise gas prices by six cents initially, with an annual increase of 2% to adjust for inflation.
It’s Washington’s first gas tax hike in nearly a decade.
