COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho – Starting Thursday, crews will begin fuel mitigation work on Tubbs Hill in Coeur d’Alene. This project, part of a grant-funded initiative, aims to reduce the impact of wildfires.

The City of Coeur d’Alene has been planning this effort since 2023. The work will start on the east side of Tubbs Hill, leading to temporary trail closures and limited access in the area.

As the project progresses, trail closures will move from the east side toward the northwest side of the hill. The city advises all visitors to watch for posted signs and respect all trail closures.
