Franklin County corrections officer arrested on misconduct and aiding suspect charges

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Wash. – The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) announced the arrest of a corrections officer on charges of official misconduct and rendering criminal assistance.

The investigation began in November when detectives discovered the officer had been communicating with inmates and providing them with privileged information connected to a shooting in Pasco where six people were injured at a house party, FCSO said in a release.

The Sheriff’s Office stated that the information was released without legal authority and emphasized that such conduct is unacceptable for anyone in the profession.

When attempting to book the officer into the Franklin County Department of Corrections, FCSO said she was denied admittance. Arrangements were made with the Benton County Jail where she was booked on the charges.

The investigation is ongoing and more arrests may occur.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office at 509-545-3501 or nonemergency dispatch at 509-628-0333.

Nonstop Local typically does not name suspects until they are formally charged.
