Coeur d’Alene, IDAHO — The City of Coeur d’Alene announced the four finalists for its Chief of Police position, and among them is the former police chief of Spokane.
The city wrote in a statement, “Following an evaluation process and first round of interviews, the listed candidates have been selected to advance to the in-person interviews which will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2026.”
· Chief Jake Fisher, El Monte Police Department
· Temporary Chief Dave Hagar, Coeur d’Alene Police Department
· Craig Meidl, previous Chief at Spokane Police Department
· Deputy Chief Greg Yeager, Fort Collins Police Services
The candidates will go through a series of panel interviews that include participants from partnering agencies, community leaders, city staff, and elected officials.
“Hiring the right Police Chief is one of the most significant decisions a City Administrator can make. The Chief sets the tone for accountability, integrity, and trust between members of the department, the rest of the City team, community partnerships, and the citizens.” said City Administrator Ron Jacobson. “The citizens of Coeur d’Alene deserve a Chief who will uphold our City’s tradition of excellence while continuing to strengthen public trust and public safety.
