SPOKANE, Wash. – Former Riverside School District employee Dallas Michael Shuler pleaded guilty to 12 felony counts related to the online exploitation of children, announced United States Attorney Pete Serrano in a release.
In May 2024, the FBI Spokane Office began investigating Shuler after a video of child sexual abuse material was posted online. Shuler admitted to contacting the minors in the video and requesting explicit content.
Investigations revealed his involvement in hands-on sexual abuse of at least three minors and online exploitation of dozens more, primarily through Snapchat. The charges involve the exploitation of 37 minor children, Serrano said.
Serrano emphasized the severity of the case, stating, “Abuse of any kind against a child is an egregious violation. My office is ready to aggressively prosecute those who exploit children in any way.”
W. Mike Herrington, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Seattle field office, highlighted the betrayal of trust by Shuler, noting, “It was a horrifying betrayal of that trust to abuse his access to children by exploiting them both in person and online.”
The case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative by the U.S. Department of Justice to combat child sexual exploitation. Sentencing is set for January 21, 2026.
