
SPOKANE, Wash. – Former Spokane City Council President Ben Stuckart and three other protesters have scheduled change of plea hearings to take place in the next nine days.
These scheduled hearings follow the stemming from Spokane’s June 11 protest at the city’s ICE office. The protest ignited in response to the detention and removal of Joswar Slater Torres and Cesar Alexander Alverez, who were while they turned in immigration-related paperwork.
At least nine people were arrested in connection to the protest. They of conspiracy to impede or injure officers and assaulting a federal officer during an ICE arrest.
Mikki Hatfield’s hearing is set for Wednesday at 10 a.m. Stuckart’s hearing will occur next Wednesday afternoon. The hearings for the two other protesters are scheduled for the day after Stuckart’s.
There is currently no information available on the status of the other five cases.
