SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – A host family of a foreign exchange student from France is searching for the girl after she left their home Monday morning at 3:30am.

According to the family, the missing 16-year-old girl named Mathilde Le Loc’h, was supposed to fly back home to France, after having spent the last 3 weeks with the family in Spokane Valley. Instead, Doorbell camera video from the family’s home captured the teen leaving in the middle of the night. She hasn’t been seen since.

The family did file a police report with the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office and the PIO there confirmed there is an active report about the incident.

The family tells NonStop Local KHQ that the teen does have a cell phone, but it’s a French number, and they’re not certain it’s ringing through to her or not. If it is, the girl is not answering her phone. The family says she has spent the past 3 weeks with them, and does not know anyone in the Spokane County area.

She was last seen in the area of Sullivan and 22nd in Spokane Valley, wearing a red sweater, blue jeans and tennis shoes, and she was carrying a tan canvas backpack. The family did get a report of early morning walkers who may have spotted her near the Liberty Lake McDonalds, heading in the direction of Idaho.

The family is extremely concerned about her well-being and asks that anyone who has seen her or knows anything about where she might be, call 911 immediately.
