DETROIT, Mich. – Ford has issued a recall for more than 694,000 vehicles, including Ford Bronco Sports and Ford Escapes, due to a potential fire risk. The recall affects certain 2021 to 2024 Bronco Sports and 2020 to 2022 Escapes.
The company has been investigating the possibility of fuel injectors cracking in these models. If a fuel leak occurs in the engine compartment, it could ignite a fire, especially if the engine or exhaust components are hot at the time.
No injuries have been reported as a result of this issue. Ford plans to send out safety notices to affected vehicle owners on August 18.
