Ford is investing $5 billion in U.S. manufacturing focused on electric vehicles, the company’s CEO announced.

The company will be assembling electric batteries in Kentucky and Michigan, rather than importing them.

Roughly 4,000 jobs will be created through this project.

“We took on the challenge many others have stopped doing,” CEO Jim Farley said.

Ford’s electric pickup truck is set to be released in 2027.
