Flags in Washington ordered to be lowered for trooper killed in line of duty

WASHINGTON – Flags in Washington are ordered to be lowered in honor of Washington State Patrol Trooper Tara-Marysa Guting.

The order is for flags to be lowered to half-staff on Saturday, Dec. 27 through Monday, Dec. 29.

after being hit by a car while investigating a crash.

“I am directing the flags be lowered this weekend in honor of Trooper Tara-Marysa Guting, who was tragically killed in the line of duty. My thoughts and prayers are with those who knew and loved her,” Governor Bob Ferguson said.

Spokane Mayor Lisa Brown also ordered flags at all city facilities be lowered to coincide with the governor’s directive.
