Flags at half-staff across Washington for slain security guard Colleen Bass

WASHINGTON STATE – Flags across the state of Washington are flying at half-staff to honor Colleen Bass, .

Governor Bob Ferguson ordered flags at all state facilities to be lowered in her honor. Bass was shot and killed in the parking lot of Eastern State Hospital on September 27, while working an overnight security shift. The tragedy unfolded during a crime spree by a lone gunman.

Her family remembers Bass as a dependable, helpful and loving woman. She was also an active member of a local roller derby group.
