POST FALLS, Idaho –A fireworks stand on Mulland Avenue is doing more than just preparing for Independence Day. Lee Clifton, the fireworks fundraiser for First Pentecostal Church, emphasized the significance of this stand in supporting youth programs at the church. These programs include choir camp and trips to Silverwood.

For many, this stand is a family tradition.

“I have kids that I sold to, coming back in with their own children now,” Clifton added.

Anna Armour, who recently moved from Phoenix, stopped by the stand to stock up on sparklers and poppers for her nieces. She shared her excitement for the upcoming Fourth of July, saying, “In Arizona there are only one or two fireworks shows, here in North Idaho, there are ten shows within 20 miles.”

Inside the tent, customers are eagerly purchasing fireworks, and Clifton expects to be sold out by the end of the night. “It’s beautiful to see. While it’s great we sold out, when we are packing up, we have people coming up and saying I didn’t get my fireworks,” Clifton noted, highlighting the demand.

For Clifton, Independence Day is about more than fireworks. He expressed, “I cry, I cry, I cry. Independence Day and the sacrifices that were made means everything.”

Despite tariffs against China, Clifton reported that prices haven’t increased significantly this year, and sales are slightly ahead of last year.
