
SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – Spokane Valley firefighters responded to a fire at a Firestone Complete Auto Care facility at 12:41 a.m. on July 30.
Firefighters from the Spokane Valley Fire Department were dispatched by Spokane Regional Emergency Communications to the scene after multiple 911 calls reported smoke coming from the building and a Spokane Valley Police officer on the scene confirmed that the shop was on fire.
The Valley 21 team arrived on the scene to find heavy smoke coming from the business and additional resources from Spokane County Fire District 8 and American Medical Response came to help out.
Responding crews entered the fiery building and performed a search to confirm that no one was inside while other crews positioned around the building and set up hose lines to get water on the fire and ventilate the roof.
Firefighters found nobody in the building and were able to contain the fire to the shop area and keep it from spreading to the store front and storage areas.
The building took significant smoke damage. Total damage to the business and its contents were estimated at $500,000.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
