Firefighters respond to 5-acre fire near Green Bluff

UPDATE: September 5, 2025 2:45 p.m.

Fire crews on the scene have completed a dozer line around the fire and stopped its forward spread.

They are working on strengthening the line and mopping up hotspots. Firefighters said that they would stay on the scene until the fire was fully contained.

Spokane County Fire District #4 said that this would be their final update on the fire.

UPDATE: September 5, 2025 2:45 p.m.

Crews on the scene have created a wetline around 85% of the fire and have slowed its forward progression, according to Spokane County Fire District #4.

No homes are threated by the fire and crews are working on finishing containment.

COLBERT, Wash. – Spokane County Fire Department responded to a 5-acre fire near Green Bluff at 12:51 p.m. today.

The fire is slowly moving, said the Spokane County Fire District #4.

Spokane County Fire District 9 and the Department of Natural Resources are also responding at the scene.

The fire is near 11608 East Vista Drive. Be sure to give first responders space.
