GRANT COUNTY, Wash. – Firefighters from Grant County Fire District Five found themselves in the mop-up phase after a fire started just east of the Grant County Fairgrounds.
Fire officials reported that the blaze was likely ignited by fireworks. Two witnesses saw individuals setting them off in the area.
The fire expanded to about an acre in size, and serves as a reminder to exercise caution when using fireworks and to be aware of potential fire hazards.
