Fire restrictions lifted on WDFW lands in Eastern Washington

WASHINGTON – The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) has lifted the emergency fire restrictions that were in place since July on WDFW-managed lands in much of Eastern Washington. This change comes as cooler, wetter weather settles across the state.

Despite the lifting of restrictions, several large fires continue to burn in Washington. WDFW reminds those planning outdoor activities to check conditions at their destination before heading out.

Fireworks remain prohibited year-round on WDFW-managed lands. Visitors are also encouraged to practice safe burning practices, even when no restrictions are in effect.
