
CLARKSTON, Wash. – Two motor homes were destroyed in a fire Monday afternoon amid a in the region, Asotin County Fire District 1 shared in a social media post.
Firefighters responded to the blaze on Bridge Street around 3:30 p.m., drawing emergency crews from Lewiston, Clarkston, and Asotin County Fire District 1.
The owners of the RVs escaped without injury.
The fire was contained quickly, with firefighters remaining on scene for about an hour to safeguard the area.
“When temperatures climb above 95 degrees, we must pay very close attention to firefighter health,” Asotin County Fire Chief Noel Hardin said. “With all the protective gear they wear, heat-related illnesses are a serious concern.”
